Ann-Marie Priest is a Queensland-based literary scholar, and author of Great Writers, Great Loves: The Reinvention of Love in the Twentieth Century (Black Inc. 2006). She has published many essays on literary subjects, and her work has twice appeared in Best Australian Essays. Her manuscript on the lives of four Australian women writers, A Free Flame was highly commended for the 2016 Dorothy Hewett Award. A Free Flame: Australian Women Writers & Vocation in the Twentieth Century was published by UWA in March, 2018.
Ann-Marie is the recipient of the 2017 Hazel Rowley Award for her proposed biography of poet Gwen Harwood.
